Darek M. Blum grew up with a strong belief in personal responsibility, hard work, and the importance of community. Raised with the understanding that neighbors should look out for one another, Darek believes that government should serve the people, not the other way around.

Over the years, Darek became increasingly concerned about the direction of public safety, economic stability, and accountability in Washington State. As a working community member, he saw firsthand how rising crime, inconsistent enforcement of laws, and growing political division affected local families and small businesses.

Darek's perspective on public policy is shaped in part by deeply personal experience. After struggling with opiate addiction for many years, he knows firsthand the devastating impact substance abuse can have on individuals, families, and communities. His recovery shaped his belief that real compassion means helping people reclaim stability and accountability. Not enabling destructive behavior through policies that ignore consequences.

Rather than remaining on the sidelines, Darek chose to get involved. He has since engaged with residents, labor groups, local organizations, and working families who felt ignored by the political establishment. Those conversations shaped his view that politics should be a responsibility, not a career.

His campaign is built around strengthening public safety, supporting public education, protecting the local economy, and ensuring laws are applied fairly and consistently. Darek identifies as a free speech absolutist and a strong supporter of the Constitution, believing that open debate and the free exchange of ideas are essential to a healthy democracy.

Darek M. Blum is running to fight for the middle-class families of LD 29 who feel forgotten, overworked, and overtaxed; and to restore confidence in a government that delivers real results for the people it serves.
