Darek's commitment to the people of Legislative District 29; in detail.
Communities thrive when laws are enforced consistently and when government sends a clear message that criminal behavior has consequences. Too many current policies place ideological priorities ahead of public safety, leaving working families, small business owners, and vulnerable residents to deal with the fallout.
Darek believes public safety is not a partisan issue. It is a basic responsibility of government. He supports combining real treatment opportunities with genuine accountability, rather than policies that allow cycles of addiction, theft, and repeat offenses to continue unchecked.
Darek's priorities:
Raising children has become financially overwhelming for middle-class families in Washington. Parents. Not government; should be raising the children of Washington, and they need real support to do it.
Darek wants to work directly with childcare providers to lower costs, reduce unnecessary bureaucratic barriers, and expand access for working families who are struggling to afford quality care while holding down jobs to support their households.
Darek's priorities:
Working families are doing everything right. Working long hours, paying taxes, raising families, contributing to their communities. Yet many are barely surviving. Washington should be a state that encourages opportunity and growth, not one that punishes success and drives businesses away.
Darek opposes excessive taxation that increases the burden on working families and sends jobs and investment to other states. He believes Washington's economic policy should be focused on creating opportunity for the middle class, not growing government.
Darek's priorities:
Parents. Not government; should be raising the children of Washington. Darek believes families deserve more say in the education and upbringing of their children, and that strong public schools are essential to the future of LD 29.
He supports investing in public education while ensuring accountability for results, and opposes policies that remove parents from decisions about their children's schooling.
Darek's priorities:
Darek's perspective on addiction and public policy is deeply personal. After struggling with opiate addiction for many years, he experienced firsthand the devastating impact substance abuse has on individuals, families, and communities. His recovery shaped his belief that real compassion means helping people rebuild their lives. Not enabling destructive behavior through policies that ignore consequences.
Too much taxpayer money is being spent enabling addiction, homelessness, and dependency instead of helping people recover and become self-sufficient. Programs focused only on needle exchanges, temporary housing, and endless spending without accountability are failing both taxpayers and the people trapped in addiction.
Darek's priorities:
Darek is a strong supporter of the Constitution, a free speech absolutist, and a full supporter of the Second Amendment. He believes Americans should be free to speak openly without government censorship or political intimidation, and that open debate and the free exchange of ideas are essential to a healthy democracy.
He will always defend the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms, and will oppose any effort by government to silence, intimidate, or restrict the constitutional rights of Washington residents.
Darek's priorities:
Darek is a strong proponent of Title IX and believes the fair athletic opportunities it guarantees for women and girls must be protected. Girls sports should remain for girls. Full stop.
Title IX was a landmark achievement that opened doors for generations of female athletes. Darek believes those hard-won opportunities should not be undermined, and that policies protecting the integrity of women's and girls' athletic competition are common sense.
